Our Own Vintage Earrings

Enameled Double Drops

Vintage enamel drop earrings, measure about 2 inches in length. All done by hand, the ball in the middle of the flowers is silver also. The pair is $89, number SN15.

Stained Glass Style

Vintage stained glass style, these were made in the late 50's, we found a couple of pairs to offer you. At the time, we could not keep them in stock, the item was extremely popular. It is acrylic, not glass as the color is actually applied with a brush but the effect is there. Hard to make and today no one seems to remember exactly how it was done. Including me. The whole thing is set in Sterling and they sport genuine Turquoise teardrops at the top. On Shepard's hooks. The pair is $66, about 1 1/4 inches in length.

Blue Delft Earrings

Button top drop earring, the button is genuine Blue Delft from Holland from many many years ago. It is done on porcelain. The drops are obviously filigrees, origin unknown. These are about 1 3/4 inches long, post earrings. The backs of the buttons are set in solid silver for support, made right, done right as always. Vintage earrings at their best. All Sterling. The pair is $119. Style number SN 25

Carved Taiwan Jade Earrings

Taiwan Jade is different from other jades, it is much darker and considered as desirable as Imperial jade. These drops have a cultured pearl in the center and are on Shepards hook wires, all set in Sterling Silver. They are 1 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. The pair is $115. Style number SN 23

Some Points of Interest about These Stones:

All stones used are natural in coloration and are not enhanced in any way.

Flourite varies widely in coloration but the main color is always somewhere either in the green (blue) or purple family. The difference between the green or purple variety is the presence of different metals in the stone.

Lapis Lazuli is dark blue with specks of gold in it, the gold is 24K. There is never any white in it and it is considered a rarity. Lapis Lazuli comes from South Asia and was prized by the Ancient Egyptians who ground it up into a fine dust, mixed it with beeswax or oil and used it as eye shadow! As it was, and is, expensive, only the princesses of Egypt and the very rich could afford to do so.

Similar to the one that you can no longer see, but with a more elaborate top. Top is set with a small lapis lazuli also set in sterling. $21 per piece.

Vintage Mosaic and Semi Precious

Mosaic in semi precious stones comprises this rare pair of earrings. The top is varying colors of mother of pearl and the lower is varying semi precious stones including tiger eye, malachite and jasper. A 5x3mm Lapis Lazuli accents the drop off. Note that the earrings are a left and a right, real jewelry the way it was supposed to made. The whole thing is set in Sterling. The pair is $60.

Mosaic inlay with Lapis Lazuli Button Top consists of (left earring, left to right) malachite, tiger-eye, black onyx, red jasper, lapis lazuli and picture jasper. NOTE that the right earring inlay is exactly the opposite which is the right way to make earrings like this so the pattern matches when they are worn on the ear. Moveable along a Sterling Hinge. Measures about 1 1/2 Inches in length with a shepards hook wire. Completely set in Sterling. The pair is $60.

Mosaic inlay with Lapis Lazuli Button Top consists of tiger-eye, black onyx, red jasper, lapis lazuli and picture jasper. Symmetrical design in a diamond shape is the same on both sides.Measures about 1 1/2 Inches in length with a shepards hook wire. Completely set in Sterling. The pair is $55.

Combination mosaic, top is Mother-of-Pearl and Black Onyx, bottom is variations on Picture Jasper and Red Jasper. The design on the left and the right earrings oppose each other, the proper way to make this type of earring. These are all vintage on this page, in the old days they made 'em right!!
