Reddish Orange twisted oval shaped beads, opaque, measuring about 12mmx8mm and with a darker stipe encircling them. Old Czechs from 1948, sold in lots of $8 per dozen, good price for such age and beauty. Just like me!! Except I am not oval shaped, I am more on the order of round, how about you? Order #BDVN5372.
Yellow Japanese cubes, more or less. They measure 10mm. They are slightly darker in the yellow department than the ones we sold you last year and ran out of. Look closely at the photo and note if you will that there are some indications of a clear flow in them. That is not a photo error, that is really there. Adds character. Like me, they bear character. But I am kindly and not at all obstreperous although I like doing things my own way. These are sold in lots of 12 for $13.50 and were also made in 1952. I wasn't. Order Item# BDVN5490.
Actually a clear bead with a golden foil in it that imparts its color to the glass, making it look yellowish. The core is white and 'twas a popular foil bead in its day. A big one too, it measures 17x14mm. This one hails from West Germany, the one below is from Japan, but they seem right to put on the same page even though years apart in production. This one was made in 1952, the year of the salami. Just want to see if you are paying attention. Sold in lots of 12 for $16.50, Works well with Topaz, Black and you-know-what. Order Item #BDVN5365.
Might appear to be another version of the same bead but it isn't, totally different genre. This one is from Japan, older, made in 1947 with silver foil. See that yellow stuff there? It isn't there, it is just a case of the perfect optical quality of the clear glass in this bead that allows it to break the light into variations of the spectrum and make it appear> to be there. The core really is white though, in case your were about to ask. It measures 15x13mm, sort of a biconal lump shape. Write that in your catalog! Well, that is what it is so now you know. Sold in lots of 12 for $27, order Item #BDVN5368.
Fire engine red really weird ITALIAN twisted bead, c. 1951. It is ACORN SHAPED, and sports a dark band around the middle, itself encased in clear glass. One of the oddest beads we have come across so far. Dimensions are 13X17mm. Opaque. Unique indeed!! Sold in lots of 6 pcs for $12.00 per lot. Order # BDVN5484.
