Crystal Comet OR 8mm, article number 20 in the old days. OR stands for GOLD and this bead is coated on one side with 24K Gold. Look at this and you will be in awe, it is truly a magnificent bead. The gold reflects the rainbow much the same as the AB finish does. The culet, or point, is dead center. Hole, although not easily visible in picture, runs east to west dead center of the bead. Crystal comet OR, the coating of 24K gold is one side of this bead. 12mm. This is a rare transitional package, note that it bears both the old article number (20) and the "new" article number (5102). Apparently they had the old number on the stock and when the system was changed they re-stamped the new number on as well.

Comet OR 2X, 12mm, coated on both sides with 24K gold. This bead literally jumps out of your hand, the reflections of color even in fluorescent light is astounding. And we all know how dead fluorescent light is. Comet OR was not often used with colors, it was primarily used on clear crystal. Here is an example of Comet OR on Light Rose, probably made on special order. The 24k gold coating is on one side of the bead, the rose color can be seen on the other side. This is an oval, measures 10.5x7mm. Order# BD-VN6407. Sold in lots of 6pcs for $18. Another version of Comet OR, this one is on EMERALD. 8mm. Comet OR, and Comet Argent were rarely made on colors, jet and crystal yes, but not on colors. This is one of the few survivors of the experiment. It is outrageous, looks good on the screen but wait till you hold them in your hand...mind blowers, the kind of bead that attracts people to beads. Wait till you see the depth of the 24K gold application, it will bend you out of shape. It too is article 5101, the one with that extra dimension to it, easily visible in these pictures. A bicone, sort of, but makes the popular 5301 look like a toy. These beads have depth, they have life, they have a price. The price is $30 a half dozen.
