Sort of triangular shaped matte finished West German milk glass, 1948, measures 12mm X 9mm. Boy, that is a mouthful! Sold in lots of 2 for $5. Order# BD-VN451C.
Facetted HEMETITE color beads, measure 6mm. These are also called "Hemetine". Hemetine is artificial Hemetite, only an expert, like me, can tell them apart just by looking at them. This is one of the best kept secrets in the industry, but I have a big mouth..ha. 99% of the "Hemetite" sold in the USA in jewelry is really Hemetine, GLASS HEMETITE!! There is a test you can do: chemically, hemetite is naturally occuring STEEL, hence, if you hold a magnet near it the magnet will be attracted to it. With Hemetine naturally it won't. These beads are HEMETINE, date from the late 40's when they first made hemetine, and sold in lots of 12 for $8.50 Order # BD-VN-770.
West Germany sent us these spectacular beads in 1949. We have four colors but all are rare. They are bicones upon close inspection, with a strand of gold running through the bead. The red and blue have a silvery embedment, the green and brown have a golden embedment mixed througout. They measure 10X14mm (the 14mm is the length) and are sold by color or in an assortment of all colors. One lot is 2 beads, sold for $18 per lot, by color. Unfortunately the red and blue are sold out. This bead did not photograph as well
as we hoped. Actually it is a CRACKED GLASS MILK GLASS bead, has white inclusions amidst a sea of milky white, one of a kind in it's genre. From the West Germans,
early 1947. Measures 6-7mm, actually a bit irregular even though they look round. Sold in lots of 6 for $12. Item # BD-VN-1000.
Yellow lumpy 8mm beads, with a bit of a striation inside, West German or Japanese, not clear about this one. Does it matter? 1949. Mountainous ridges and deep
valleys give it a three dimensional appearance under a 20,000 X microscope. Some weird things going on in those vallies! Sold in lots of 12 for $10. Cheap enough.
Order# BD-VN1008.
