From Czechoslovakia, 1949, we get these spectacular oval beads. Measure 13x17mm. The little spots you see are splatterings of gold dust. Study these beads and the subtley of color. When we first went on the internet, in 1998, we had these beads and thought we sold them out. Found a small box of them recently, not a whole lot, but some, and as they are so beautiful we decided to post them again. But this is it, there are no more about so if you like them this would be a good time to order. Made in 1951. A pale pinkish lavender with a pearlescent finish that barely shows in the photo. Pearlescence is not big on showing up in pictures. These measure 12x25mm, a full inch long and half as wide, facet cutting giving them planes to throw off the pearlescence. Tough to describe such beauty. These are very rare, we never had many to begin with, and they are not so cheap, so if you are, move onto the next bead!! You get good mileage out of them though, that is a redeeming factor. Mileage means one bead goes far, you would need six 4mm beads to cover the same lenght that one of these covers. Fully translucent too, at no extra charge! A lot of 6 is $18 . Buy 2 lots. If I se and save $1.00. ll them two lots at a time I will not have to commit an entire bin to them so long and bins around here are scarce. Computer does the math. BDVN5457.

I had a dozen of these set up in my studio to photograph but most of them disappeared. I do not know where they went, but since only myself and my daughter are allowed into the studio and I know I did not move them......hmmm. Well, she is a beader like the rest of us so it is a good guess that they went thataway. Easy to understand, they are gorgeous but if she wanted to borrow them she should have waited till after I shot them, don't you think? Turquoise and black in coloration, perhaps to emulate the real article in Persian turquoise. Who knows what the Czechs were thinking back in the day. Blood red cubes with white splotches spanning about. These measure 11mm but there is not much more to say about them except 1953 and they are here.

When photographing this gold dust you don't always get what you want. Just like Mick said. These are CLEAR ovals and the gold dust is smathered about but overwhelms the camera because it spreads the color of the dust throughout the bead, not concentrating it like your eye would do. Nothing can be done about it either, it is just there to frustrate me. And now..frustrate you. The price is $9 per dozen and they measure a goodly 10x16mm.
